Haven’t done all that much since Sunday. Just worked. Went shopping with my mom and two sisters this evening. We were hoping to find a graduation dress for Krystal but she is so picky, plus there wasn’t that much to choose from. She ended up getting a really pretty black top and we just need to find her a skirt and then she’ll wear that rather than a fancy dress. I’m sure she’d be more comfortable in a skirt rather than a dress as she doesn’t usually wear girly clothing. lol While we were at the mall I found a pair of black Fila running shoes for work (my old ones were just falling to pieces). Luckily my mom paid for those; I’m too broke. lol
Talked to Jordan for awhile on the phone. Poor guy has to be up at 4:15 a.m. tomorrow. I don’t think I could get up that early for work and still be functional. Definitely not a morning person. I think he’s driving down tomorrow, so yay. 🙂
Hmmm. I really need to save up some cash but it’s so hard when I’m paying $300 for rent plus my loan payment from school. That’s pretty much what I make in a month. If I get good hours I usually have some spending money, but work has been cutting hours. I would like to get a new digital camera (dying for the Canon Powershot S3 IS) and an MP3 player. The MP3 player would be more affordable, though. lol My birthday is coming up. 😉
I had a great weekend. The only part that sucked was having to work til close on Saturday night. Jordan was late picking Kees and I up that night because he was at the theatre with Ryan & Stacey…I was a little annoyed by that, mostly because I felt bad that Kees cancelled her ride home to come with us and then she had to wait so long. Meep, I’m such an impatient person. *hides*
But anyway, Jordan got into town around ten p.m. Friday night. He stopped by my house to pick me up. We ended up watching a couple movies with Ryan & Stacey: “Freddy Got Fingered” and “Assault on Precinct 9”. The first movie was absolutely disgusting and horrible. Cannot believe I even watched it. I kept falling asleep during the second movie due to a couple Brown Cow drinks. I was already tired and that, mixed with a bit of alcohol, made me feel groggy.
Saturday we did some shopping. Finally found my Maybelline Full n’ Soft mascara at Shoppers Drug Mart for $4.99. I usually buy it at Loblaws but the last few weeks they have had almost no stock of Maybelline mascaras and I ended up buying Unstoppable…and I hate it. So I was verrrrry happy to find my kind for so cheap a price. 😀
Nancy sent my birthday gift early — two months early, actually. haha A cast photo from 2006 Canadian Stars on Ice, an autographed 8×10 photo of Joannie Rochette, an autographed 8×10 photo of Xue Shen & Hongbo Zhao, as well as the Marion Raven CD. Lots of love to my Nancy! *huggles* Oooh did I mention we have tickets to Gotta Skate VI in October? heehee
Today was my mom’s birthday. We had barbequed chicken, hamburgers, shrimp, Caesar salad, macaroni and potatoe salads, bread and dip and for dessert there was chocolate cake (made by Keesje), cheesecake, and strawberries with whipped cream. So much food but there were quite a few people there, plus Jordan, so ya know it all got eaten right up. 😉 He had to leave at seven, unfortunately. Hated to see him go, but he’s got to get back to work. Five more days til Friday…
Finally I have got this site back up and running properly. Now for some catch up. Lots of things going on since my last blog. Last week Jordan found out he was accepted into a military course he had applied for a few months ago. He had to leave on the 17th, the day after Easter. So I spent as much time as possible with him last weekend. Friday was spent just hanging out and going down to the waterfront to take pictures. We watched “The Mummy” before bed.
Unfortunately I was incredibly sick on the Saturday which was a whole day wasted. I had to call in sick to work and therefore lost holiday pay for Friday and Sunday. I spent that whole day in pain and throwing up or curled up in a ball in bed. Jordan did his best to take care of me but I just felt disgusting.
By Sunday I was feeling a little better, thankfully, though my stomach felt raw and it hurt when I walked. I went to church with Jordan for the Easter service. Afterward we went out for brunch. I managed to eat half a wrap. The food was pretty good but it was hard to enjoy it cuz I wasn’t feeling 100%. But I was glad we’d gone out for one last meal before he had to go away.
Anyway, my mom invited us over for Easter dinner. We had roast and potatoes and carrots. The food was delicious! I love my mom’s cooking. I think we all had a good time, chatting, laughing, taking photos, making fun of each other. lol I didn’t want the night to end because I knew Jordan would be leaving on Monday…but he promised to stop by my house Monday afternoon before he left.
The course lasts until August so he’ll be gone quite awhile. 🙁 This is only day 4. It’s hard just talking to him on the phone. I haven’t had a hug since Monday and that definitely feels strange. He can’t drive down here this weekend because he only has Sunday off. Hopefully he’ll get a free weekend soon because I miss him like crazy. This is the first time I have ever wished the summer would just fly by so that it can be mid-August and he can be here with me.
I’m feeling much better. Whatever bug I had only lasted those two days. I thought I was going to end up with a cold because yesterday I woke up with a really scratchy throat. It must be just from the dry air; no cold as of yet.
I went shopping with my mom and siblings on Friday. I was out of just about everything, so I had to pile up on lotion (mmm found this divine St. Ives cucumber melon stuff), conditioner, deodorant, Infusium, etc. I also splurged and bought the unrated/extended edition of “Coyote Ugly”. We also went to Chapter’s and I spent my gift certificate as well as tried a java chip Frappuccino. Delicious!
Yesterday evening a bunch of us from work went out to dinner. We meant to go to East Side Mario’s (yuck) but there was an hour and fifteen minute wait, so then we tried Kelsey’s but that was a forty-five minute wait, and we were all starving. Someone suggested Whisky Willie’s and we got a table for nine people in there no problem. I had a chicken fajita wrap. Oh yum! And their French fries are heaven.
No luck yet with apartment hunting. There was nothing for us in the newspaper today. Shall keep looking.
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you guys had a wonderful day, ate lots of turkey and stuffing, and made at least one person smile. 🙂
We went over to my mom’s around noon today to exchange gifts. I got the 3-disc Collector’s Edition of “Titanic”, a cell phone (Kees got one too), some chocolates and flavoured coffee, Melissa O’Neil’s CD, and a book from my mom and Mike. I bought my mom a watch with a pink face and gave Mike a box of Turtles chocolates. From my dad I got another book and some money. Devon’s mom gave me “Mr & Mrs Smith” plus a gift card for Chapters (yay, more books!). Gave my dad a Chapters card cuz he’s a book freak like me! I’m really happy with everything. 🙂
Wore my pretty burgundy skirt that I bought in Toronto. Spilled wine on myself. Ate so much food that I couldn’t manage any dessert. Took lots of pictures. Had lots of fun!
Shortly after my aunt and uncle and cousins left, my mom drove us home. I’ve been playing around with my phone, figuring things out. heheh Hopefully I can activate it tomorrow.
