“Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker.”

I’m going away for the weekend to visit Nancy. Keesje and I catch the train Saturday morning. Our itinerary includes Stars On Ice tomorrow night; mall shopping and cheesecake, and probably a movie, on Sunday; and on our final day we will be shopping downtown for used CDs/books/magazines/movies, etc. It’s going to be an exhausting three days, which is why I’m going to bed so early. 🙂 And guess what? My cold has faded away.

“I’d say, more like a friendly suggestion.”

It’s Easter time and last night my mom came over to give us some Caramilk Eggs and Creme Eggs. I love them; too bad they aren’t sold all year round! Keesje and I watched “Mulan II” and it’s a really cute movie with fun songs. haha We love Mulan!

What else have I been up to? Went out for St. Patrick’s Day with Amy, Rebecca, and Mark…Easter is pretty uneventful as we’re not doing anything besides making ourselves sick with too much chocolate….

I’m finally getting a few more hours at work. I had Wednesday off so I spent the day with Kendra & Jay. We watched some “Friends” episodes, went to the mall and Wal-Mart to try to cure our boredom (didn’t work), and then out to dinner with Marcel & Julia. It was nice finally meeting her! We had Chinese buffet. I’m not a fan of buffet but everybody really liked the place. Afterward we headed over to Marcel’s and I met his new roommate. It took us ages to figure out which movie we would watch. lol We settled on “The Forgotten” with Julianne Moore. The movie was good, but creepy.

Anyway, I have to leave for work! I know it’s going to be incredibly busy there. Eek.

A visit from Nancy

Nancy came down today. Met her at the train station and then brought her home to meet Destiny, who surprizingly hardly barked at her at all. lol We pretty much just hung around the house for awhile until Keesje had to leave for work, so we went to the bus stop with her, then Nancy and I continued downtown. Had supper at Copper Penny…mmmmm! Then went to the theatre to see “The Wedding Date”. I found the movie very cute, although some characters weren’t fleshed out that well. But I’d definitely watch it again. Now we’re home and Kees and Nance are watching wrestling. Snore. lol Plans for tomorrow are shopping, yay!

Oh! Nancy brought me an autographed picture of Dayna Manning, which totally rules and now I need to find a frame for it so I can hang it on my wall!

Happy holidays

We just got back from Christmas dinner at my mom’s house. First, this morning — more like afternoon by the time all of us were showered and ready — we opened gifts to each other and from our dad. We being me, Mark, and Keesje.

Mark and Kees gave me the box set of Harry Potter books. I’m so excited to read them again. 😀 And from my dad I was given “Gilmore Girls: Season 2” and “Friends: Season 6”. Pretty awesome! I’m really happy with those gifts. Both Mark and Keesje got the extended edition of “LOTR: Return of the King” plus other things I can’t remember.

After that we drove over to my mom’s house. She had cheese and crackers, some spicy sausage I didn’t try, cookies, shrimp rings, and chocolates set out as snacks before dinner. I love Lindor chocolates. 😉 We opened stocking stuffers first. Lots of neat little things like lotions, Lipsmackers, chocolate oranges, mints, etc.

When my aunt and uncle and two cousins arrived I handed out the gifts. I can’t remember what everyone got, but I know Krystal received a lot of movies: “A Cinderella Story” (from me), “Van Helsing” (from Kees), “Shrek 2”, “Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban” (from my dad), and “A Walk to Remember”. My mom gave me Elizabeth Arden Fifth Avenue perfume that comes with body lotion that smells divine, a green luggage piece that I picked out from Bentley’s for my Toronto trips, burnable CDs, blank VHS tapes so I can tape skating, yay! And two Björk CDs: “Post” and “Medulla”. 😀 Pretty sweet, eh?

When we finished with gifts we chatted for awhile until dinner was ready: turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, home-made stuffing, veggies. Sooooo yummy and I’m so full! For dessert my mom served freshly baked apple pie and coffee cake and I think there was more chocolate and cookies. I drank almost the whole bottle of strawberry Zinfandel wine my dad brought. lol

Later, after my aunt, uncle, and cousins had left, we thought we should get going as well. We stopped at the new house and looked around inside. My room is going to be a little smaller and it’s going to be interesting getting all my furniture in there. I need to get a new desk, too. But anyway, that’s all for now. I hope everyone else enjoyed their Christmas, had a good time with friends and family, and ate lots of food!

A walk on the moon *

I think it’s about time for a proper blog! I’m excited for Christmas Day because my mom is having a dinner at her house. Mmmm, turkey! I absolutely love turkey. And sweet potatoes. I think she’s making those, too. 😀 The only dish that will be missing is “potatoe thingy”. 🙁

I watched a bunch of trailers for movies today. I want to see “King Arthur” and “Troy”. Yes, still haven’t seen those. lol I was reminded about them when I walked through Wal-Mart today on my way to work.

Speaking of work, today there was a luncheon. For the last few days Keesje has been obsessed about this luncheon. lol Lots of food and crackers and yummy desserts. Not half bad. 😉

Moving day is looming closer. Five days to be exact.
