A bit of miscellanea

I never wrote about it, but Nancy & George’s trip here, in February, was enjoyable. We hung out, shopped, watched bits of fuzzy television (we don’t have cable), made drinks, played Life, and took tons of photos. 🙂

I have tickets to see Canadian Stars on Ice in April. I’m excited because figure skating shows very rarely come to my city! Now that we have a brand-new arena, hopefully more shows will occur. I’ll be going with Keesje and a friend of mine.

I have been playing lots of The Sims 2 lately. That means I’ve been busy keeping Simlish updated and in good working order. I love my little Simmies. 🙂

Tax time is here. I have received one out of three T4s. Arrrgh.

Don’t wake me, I must be on the edge of myself *

Monday night, Jordan & I and Keesje were invited over to Kendra & Jay’s for a turkey dinner. The turkey was delicious! She sent the leftover meat home with us and so far it has made some yummy sandwiches. 🙂

I am still waiting to hear if my new glasses are ready to be picked up. They were ordered and paid for in full last Wednesday. I got a phone call the next day; something about one of my lenses is missing, is on backorder, and I should be able to pick my glasses up in five business days. Well, it’s been five business days and no glasses yet.

I came home early from work today. The grocery store was not very busy. Couldn’t go on the internet, though, because the cable and internet lines were being worked on. So I started my Sims 2 game again. I had to reinstall the entire game — for probably like the 6th time — because of a faulty item I put into the Downloads folder. So I lost my families yet again and have started anew. I hope to get the new Pets expansion soon; most likely after they release a patch for it (they always do).

Anyway, almost time to go over to my mom’s. I don’t know yet what we’re having for dinner. I need to do some laundry, too. Jordan should be meeting us over there. I’m starting to get hungry…

I wanna hold you high and steal your pain *

Finally I have got this site back up and running properly. Now for some catch up. Lots of things going on since my last blog. Last week Jordan found out he was accepted into a military course he had applied for a few months ago. He had to leave on the 17th, the day after Easter. So I spent as much time as possible with him last weekend. Friday was spent just hanging out and going down to the waterfront to take pictures. We watched “The Mummy” before bed.

Unfortunately I was incredibly sick on the Saturday which was a whole day wasted. I had to call in sick to work and therefore lost holiday pay for Friday and Sunday. I spent that whole day in pain and throwing up or curled up in a ball in bed. Jordan did his best to take care of me but I just felt disgusting.

By Sunday I was feeling a little better, thankfully, though my stomach felt raw and it hurt when I walked. I went to church with Jordan for the Easter service. Afterward we went out for brunch. I managed to eat half a wrap. The food was pretty good but it was hard to enjoy it cuz I wasn’t feeling 100%. But I was glad we’d gone out for one last meal before he had to go away.

Anyway, my mom invited us over for Easter dinner. We had roast and potatoes and carrots. The food was delicious! I love my mom’s cooking. I think we all had a good time, chatting, laughing, taking photos, making fun of each other. lol I didn’t want the night to end because I knew Jordan would be leaving on Monday…but he promised to stop by my house Monday afternoon before he left.

The course lasts until August so he’ll be gone quite awhile. 🙁 This is only day 4. It’s hard just talking to him on the phone. I haven’t had a hug since Monday and that definitely feels strange. He can’t drive down here this weekend because he only has Sunday off. Hopefully he’ll get a free weekend soon because I miss him like crazy. This is the first time I have ever wished the summer would just fly by so that it can be mid-August and he can be here with me.

A baby shower

Went to Marcel & Julia’s combination baby shower/housewarming party yesterday afternoon. For the baby, I gave them a green Care Bear, some receiving blankets, and day-of-the-week bibs with animals on them; for their house, I bought them a two-person set of yellow breakfast plates, bowls, and coffee mugs. There was so much food and not everyone showed up, so they have tons of leftovers.

Work was sort of busy today. Off and on spurts of customers.

Oohh, I bought The Sims 2: Nightlife and I have been playing that everyday for hours on end. Lane has been over quite a few times to play it, too. We are so addicted! 😀

Chocolate and TS2

I went to Erin’s birthday potluck last night with Lane. I brought “potatoe thingy”, aka hashbrown potatoe casserole. We hung around there for a little while, but I hardly knew anyone so it wasn’t as fun as it could have been. When I came home I had a huge craving for chocolate, and my dad decided to go on a chocolate run. He brought me and Keesje a huge Dairy Milk to split. So yummy!

I played The Sims 2 this morning for a couple hours. My Indian Sim mommy just gave birth to another baby girl. For some reason my Sims in Veronaville only have girls. Sehr strange. I have yet to have a set of twins. 🙁
