Shake it, shake it *

I am on my third day off in a row and am getting very bored. I’ve read, played TS2 to my heart’s content, watched “Sex & the City” episodes, gone to the post office, made food, researched resorts in Puerto Vallarta….Thank goodness I have a shift tomorrow, otherwise I would go crazy.

Didn’t do anything for Thanksgiving. I worked on the Sunday, which is when my family had dinner over at Aunt Heather’s. So I didn’t get to go because they ate early in the day. Then on the Monday I sat around doing next to nothing while other people enjoyed turkey and stuffing. That evening, though, Keesje came over for dinner (stir fry) and we hung out for a bit. Downloaded some new music.

I might be going over to my mom’s for dinner tonight. I better phone and find out about that.

Oh I completely forgot to blog about my work’s Christmas stock night. On the 6th, a few of us went into work for 7 pm and worked on getting Christmas items out onto the floor until about 4:40 am when Angela and I finally punched out. It was quite a night. We were treated to Wendy’s frosties and other little treats while we worked. Also, Angela and I wrote a song while we worked; we were really tired and crazy. I believe we completed “The 12 Days of JYSKmas” by 3:30 am and sang it for those left over at 4 am. It was fun. 🙂

It’s been a merry Christmas

Christmas this year was wonderful. We opened gifts after a breakfast of bacon and eggs! Jordan gave me some really cool gifts, including new speakers for my computer (they are metallic light pink!), “Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix”, “Pirates of the Caribbean 3”, “Pan’s Labyrinth”, a lovely glass dish that can be used as a cake stand/punch bowl/trifle dish, various red KitchenAid things, pyjamas, and of course lots of chocolate! I gave him a game he wanted for Xbox 360, some movies, mittens, and a 6-in-1 heavy coat for going hunting. 🙂

After that, we went to my mom’s to exchange presents and for dinner. She bought me way too much! A novel, two cookbooks, bath stuff, socks, chocolates, a Harry Potter calendar, and — get this — a Crock Pot slow-cooker! My eyes just about bugged out of my head! Now I have to learn how to use it. hehe I gave my mom a pretty pot for a plant, and two hanging star tealight holders. Keesje gave me these really cool Egyptian plaque things that are made out of rock that hang on the wall: on the three separate rectangular rock things are Egyptian motifs and hieroglyphs. They look really cool! I gave her some Body Butter from The Body Shop and a Final Fantasy game for her Playstation 2. For Krystal, I gave her a La Senza gift card. A Chapters gift card to Mark. Oh, Mark gave Jordan and I an African game called Mancala but we haven’t played it yet. He also gave us Starbucks coffee beans!

Dinner was great! Delicious turkey and stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans and parsnips, potatoe thingy (made by yours truly), rolls, and for dessert Keesje had made chocolate cheescake. My mom also made pumpkin pie!

Today, on Boxing Day, I worked at 7 am until 4:30 pm. I was scheduled until 6 pm but I got to leave early. Jordan picked me up and we ended up going to the mall before it closed and I found a couple pairs of black pants for work at Garage Clothing.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly *

Merry Christmas! We opened gifts this morning. From his housemates, Jordan got a huge Dodge Ram remote control truck that he’s been racing around the house, popping wheelies. lol I gave him a box-set of the “Lord of the Rings” books (including “The Hobbit”), some boxers, Zelda: The Wind-Waker for Game Cube, lots of chocolates and candy in his stocking, a gift certificate for his favourite store (Canadian Tire), some energy drinks for the drive tomorrow, and a big bottle of body wash.

From Ryan & Stacey, aka Santa, I got a new loofah and satsuma perfume! Yum!

Got quite a bit of things from Jordan — three sets of scarves and mittens (one blue with sparkly snowflakes, which I think is my favourite; a colourful striped one that reminds me of a candy cane; and a lavendar set). Also some pink snowflake pyjamas, a really soft fluffy pink robe from Bluenotes, pink snowflake slippers, lots of black and white ankle-socks (cuz all my socks have holes in them), and a pair of black and pink running shoes for work. In my stocking were a couple pairs of earrings, Ferrer Rocher chocolates, Terry’s Orange chocolates (the individually wrapped ones), a Spongebob toothbrush (haha), a Spongebob lollipop, and a new razer. 😀

Around noon we are going over to my mom’s. Then over to my aunt’s for Christmas dinner. Then back here for another dinner with Ryan & Stacey. Oh the food we will consume today!

Jordan and I are heading out to New Brunswick tomorrow afternoon (when I finish work) until January 2nd, so I won’t be around to update either this blog or my fanlistings until then. 🙂

A little slippery out

Today we had the first real snowfall of winter. I woke up this morning and looked out the window and everything was covered in a layer of white. I am not a fan of snow, nor am I a fan of this particular cold season, but there is something about an expanse of untouched white snow that is beautiful. Snow reminds me of Christmas, which will be here sooner than we think. Luckily I have most of my Christmas shopping finished. I am only waiting on one package for Jordan to arrive in the mail. Now I need to buy some wrapping paper!

Nancy and I have tickets to Canadian Stars On Ice for the Hamilton show in April 2007. I’m very excited as I haven’t been to a show since CSOI in 2005. Plus Marie-France Dubreuil & Patrice Lauzon and Joannie Rochette are now a part of the cast! It’s quite a few months away, but I can’t wait. 🙂

Oh, funny incident. Jordan drove me home this morning before work and as we pulled up to the building we saw this kid slip on the icy pavement and fall down. I kinda laughed and said something along the lines, “Wait til I get out. That will be me!” Sure enough, as I walked behind the truck — WHOOSH — slipped and landed right on my butt! Jordan jumps out of the truck, “Are you okay? All of a sudden you disappeared!” ROFL Oh man, it didn’t hurt too much, but it was pretty funny.

It must be St. Nick

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you guys had a wonderful day, ate lots of turkey and stuffing, and made at least one person smile. 🙂

We went over to my mom’s around noon today to exchange gifts. I got the 3-disc Collector’s Edition of “Titanic”, a cell phone (Kees got one too), some chocolates and flavoured coffee, Melissa O’Neil’s CD, and a book from my mom and Mike. I bought my mom a watch with a pink face and gave Mike a box of Turtles chocolates. From my dad I got another book and some money. Devon’s mom gave me “Mr & Mrs Smith” plus a gift card for Chapters (yay, more books!). Gave my dad a Chapters card cuz he’s a book freak like me! I’m really happy with everything. 🙂

Wore my pretty burgundy skirt that I bought in Toronto. Spilled wine on myself. Ate so much food that I couldn’t manage any dessert. Took lots of pictures. Had lots of fun!

Shortly after my aunt and uncle and cousins left, my mom drove us home. I’ve been playing around with my phone, figuring things out. heheh Hopefully I can activate it tomorrow.
