Computer issues

My computer is still being upgraded/fixed by my darling husband. It’s a pretty old machine and my husband took out the old hard drive and replaced it with a new one. He also upgraded XP to Windows 7. However Windows 7 lags, even with all the updates installed. So far it looks like the motherboard is too old to be supported by the new operating system. I may need a new computer. In the meantime, I can still write posts on my tablet, but I can’t add photos from my DSLR camera. I’ll have to go back and add photos in at a later date!

Let the music move you *

I had just started my Dominican post when my computer died! At first we thought it was the hard drive, but after talking to someone at work we figured out that it was the power supply. My husband brought me to Canada Computers downtown and we purchased a much better power supply. After installation, my computer was back to normal and would actually turn on. I was going crazy without my computer!

Now that I’m back, though, I’m going to be even more busy. We have recently received our posting message, which means we have until July to sell our house and buy a new one in our new location. I’m already stressed out trying to get the house in decent order. I feel like it’s a complete write-off, with stuff EVERYWHERE. Trying to purge, get rid of junk that we haven’t used since moving here, etc.

In other news, my nephew is almost 9 months old! He is starting to stand on his own for short periods of time. Uh oh! And he loves to play in curtains.

Playing in the curtains

I love him

I have also decided to participate in fatmumslim’s April photo challenge on Instagram.

April's photo challenge

April 1st - "Your reflection"

April 2nd - "Colour"

Hopefully I can keep up with this, even if I’m late to posting the photos on here. 🙂

Run right out of time *

1) I’m still waiting for my new computer to be built. I have called a couple times but they are still waiting for some parts to be delivered. I’m too impatient!

2) I passed my road test and now I am classed as a G2 driver. That was quite nerve-wracking! But I did it. 🙂 After one year I can go for my full license.

3) Last night Kendra & Jay came over for a visit. Yay, we had company!

Rinse and repeat

I was up very early this morning to make sure that Jordan got off to work in time. He had to be there at 5:45 a.m. He went to Ottawa today to participate in two parades at the throne speech. I watched part of this speech tonight on TV on the off-chance of seeing the boys marching about, but the speech went on and on and on and I almost fell asleep. Boooooring. Needless to say, I turned it off. Blech.

I had a craving for McDonald’s today. McChicken and fries for dinner!

Haven’t been up to much lately: Wake up, go to work, come home, do nothing, rinse and repeat. I bought a new Samsung 20″ LCD monitor the other day from FutureShop. Wow, it’s huge. I love it to death. I got it for the sale price since the sale tag was still on the shelf (although the sale had only been over a day).

And I have ordered a new computer tower with the works from Canada Computers; it is still being built (waiting for some parts, specifically the motherboard which is rather important). Can’t wait until I can install Sims 2 onto a fast computer!
